Vibe Coding in FileMaker: Unlocking Agentic AI with Native Text IDEs

With the explosive growth of AI coding assistants, FileMaker developers are hitting a wall: tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Gemini cannot natively interact with the proprietary Script Workspace.

In this session, Dimitris Kokoutsidis will demonstrate ai2fm, a tool that bi-directionally translates FileMaker XML into a first-class, linter-enforced textual language (.fmscript). Through a live 'Vibe Coding' demonstration, you will see how developers can use modern text IDEs (like VS Code or VSCodium) to let autonomous AI agents write, debug, and compile transactional FileMaker scripts from scratch, before pasting them flawlessly back into the FileMaker environment.

What we will cover in this session:

• The Clipboard Bridge: How to seamlessly move FileMaker XML to your favorite text editor without external plugins.

• The "Free Tier" IDE Experience: Utilizing real-time syntax highlighting, strict linting, and autocomplete for FileMaker scripts in VS Code.

• Multi-Agent Orchestration: A live demonstration of deploying a triad of AI agents on a legacy script,
where one model refactors the logic,
a second model writes the documentation,
and a third model audits the work of the others for safety.

• Enterprise Security: A look at the zero-retention, RAM-only XSLT architecture that ensures proprietary FileMaker schema remains completely private.

• The "Human-in-the-Loop" Reality: Why AI isn't replacing FileMaker architects, but rather giving them a massive velocity upgrade.
